My book has been in the editing phase with the publisher for 60 ish days now! The editor sent back “suggestions” and we have been going back and forth to work through everything.

I feel like everything is moving soooo fast and yet soooo slow!!!

No suggestions were made on content with is GREAT 😍 but spelling, punctuation, verb agreement, font size, and format were all reviewed to ensure the writing is in line with the Chicago Manual of Style. There is a LOT of blue and red in this document with notes/suggestions/and questions in the margin. ALL good stuff! I LOVE constructive criticism….it’s true I really do!!!
The editors also put in line numbers to help give the editing team a point of reference for the changes I send back! We will go back and forth until we are both happy with the final product!
They also don’t use the word “deadline” instead they prefer saying “our goal” is to have this done by….. I like deadlines better! In my mind goal date is a suggestion and deadlines are written in stone!
What will happen next:
1️⃣-After editing will be page layout/design and I’m SUPER excited to see how the THOUSANDS of words I wrote will translate to pages and number of pages!! Also I get to include pictures and I’m really looking forward to placing them.
2️⃣-After page layout, there will be cover design, a media campaign and then a BOOK! Thank you for your support friends!
